Official Placing: 1, 4, 3, 2
Cuts: 4, 4, 2
Judgers, this is an easy class to start the second round of our contest.
I expect a lot of 50's on this class.
I
placed this class of market lambs 1, 4, 3, 2.

Number 1 wins this class rather easily by being the most
complete lamb in the class. I would describe this lamb as a
power lamb that still has style and balance. I would like
to clean him up a little through the shoulders, however, he
is correct at the point. This lamb is extremely wide and
square over the rack and gets progressively wider as you go
down the rack and loin. He is wide and flat over the loin,
however, the loin edge does drop slightly. He is long in
the hip and square through the dock, wide through the pins,
and exhibits depth of twist with tremendous muscling through
the stifle. I would call him medium plus in frame.

Number 4 easily places over lamb 3 for second in this class,
however, I would like to change several things about this
lamb starting with his low neck set. Then I would like to
see him with about 2 inches less depth of shoulder,
granting, he is level in the top and bottom lines. He
appears to taper over the rack and loin and does not show
evidence of depth of loin edge. He is long hipped, square
through the dock and shows good depth of twist and muscle
through the stifle. He does show evidence of hocking and
that and the neck placement are structural inadequacies.

Third Place: 3
Entry number:

|
The closest placing in this class is between the bottom
pair, 3 and 2, which are completely opposite in body type,
with 3 having the superior length and more correct in finish
with less structural problems than 2. He is narrow over the
rack and loin and tapers at both locations, exhibits very
little depth of twist and devoid of muscle mass in the lower
third. He does have enough superior qualities to place
third in this class.
|
Fourth Place: 2
Entry number:
100 |
|
I placed 2 at the bottom of this class because he is
structurally incorrect, short sided, on the negative side of
medium frame, and with his heavy middle, shows evidence of
excess finish.
Again, I placed this class of market lambs 1, 4, 3, 2 with
cuts of 4, 4, 2.
