Official Placing: 2, 1, 4, 3
Cuts: 2, 2, 5
I
find this class of 125-130 pound market lambs interesting. We have one
lamb pictured at an angle for the rear view which presents some
difficulty in estimating top width. Others are closer or farther away
from the photographer. I feel this set would be better evaluated live.
I
place the class 2, 1, 4, 3. The cuts are 2, 2, and 5. |

I started the class with the 2 lamb, finding it to be the
lamb combining the most desirable traits. He
excels in his neck set, has adequate length and a smooth
muscle pattern. I grant a slight slope is evident out
the dock but not enough to detract from the overall
appearance.

Closely following our class winner is the 1 lamb. 1
has very expressive muscle pattern and great length of body.
He is of a different type than our class winner, with the "tubey"
pattern so prevalent in years past. I fault this lamb in
his neck set, slope (though slight) in the hip, and flatness
in the rib. The three quarter angle is a bit deceiving but I
think side by side 2 will excel 1 in width down the top.

Third Place: 4

In third we have the 4 lamb. This lamb is similar in
pattern to our second place lamb, but with less muscle
expression, a still lower neck set, and some narrowing in
the loin.

Fourth Place: 3

I placed the 3 lamb in fourth. This blue lamb has less
length of body, is narrow in his design, with minimal muscle
in the rear.
