We're just going to count this class 1, 2, 3 ,4  and cut 2, 2, 7.

First Place:  1

Entry number:  170

Exhibitor:  2TLivestock

State:  NE

Sheep name/number:  Lindi

Breed:  Hampshire

In a very close top pair, I choose to start with the ewe lamb.  She is the more fault free sheep of the class, that is best off of both ends of her skeleton being flatter and neater at the point of her shoulder and squarer out of her dock.

I'll be the 1st to admit that 2 has more bulge to his outer stifle and is bigger boned.  Still 1 is the complete lamb with a definite advantage in style and balance.  In addition to her advantages of front end and hip, she is thicker racked and fuller over her loin edge.

Second Place:  2

Entry number:  269

Exhibitor:  kaz

State:  TX

Sheep name/number:  Hairy

Breed:  Medium wool

2 is the most expressively muscled lamb in class, particularly through his center portion of his leg, however he is round shouldered and round out of his dock so I leave him second.  Despite these criticisms, I choose to use his advantages of added bone and muscle expression over 3 in another close pair.  The white pelted lamb simply reads to have more elevation of rack, freshness of loin and depth of twist added to the advantage in expression of muscle he displays from the rear.

Third Place:  3

Entry number:  317

The dark fibered wether is certainly long sided and level down his top line, I just question the amount of muscle draped over his frame when compared to the top two, and he appears to be the deepest through the floor of his chest and roundest in his shoulder.

Still he has a definite advantage over 4 in the bottom.  He is a better balanced, thicker ended, tighter hided sheep that is much more desirable in regards to club lamb type, that without a doubt will go to the rail with the most pounds of retail product.

Fourth Place:  4

Entry number:  318

Sure, 4 is a stout boned, level topped, tight chested wether, however this is where his advantages end, as in reality, he is a thicker hided, lighter muscled lamb that tapers in his dock and funnels to his lower leg.
