Official Placing:
4, 3, 2, 1
Cuts: 2, 5, 2
We placed this class of
prospect lambs 4, 3, 2, 1.
We thought this class sorted itself into 2 pairs quite easily. You have
the two higher quality lambs that are nicer balanced and heavier muscled
in the top pair and the two lighter muscled poorer balanced lambs in the
bottom pair. |
First Place: 4

Breed:

We chose to
start with the predominantly Hampshire looking lamb as it is
stouter featured and thicker ended. It is wider and more
dimensional out his hip and through his leg. He also has a
better neck set as he ties higher from his neck to his
shoulder.

Granted the
lamb with the green ear tag is longer bodied, yet falls
short in terms of muscle shape and is U-necked.
In the middle pair 3 easily beats 2, as it is wider based,
heavier muscled and leveler out of its hip. It has more
center base width, is deeper through its twist and is wider
from stifle to stifle.

Third Place: 2
Entry number:

We do admire 2
for its length of body and growth pattern, but is narrower
gauged and lighter muscled.
In the bottom pair it gets closer, we chose to use the more
elevated, longer bodied lamb. It appears to have more
growth potential and be more attractive from the side.
It is leveler down its top, making it more desirable in the
show ring. In addition, he is better in his rib
design, being trimmer made through his mid section.

Fourth Place: 1
Entry number:
306 |
|
Admittedly 1 is
thicker and more explosive through its leg, yet we faulted
it and placed it last as it is short bodied, roaches in his
top, rounder in its hip and really full in his rib.
Therefore we placed this class 4, 3, 2, 1 with cuts of 2, 5,
2.
