You have two outstanding brood ewe prospects in 1 and 4 and both have more positive traits than negative. Of these two ewe lambs, 1 is presented completely free of wool and the other, 4, probably has a two month clip.  You need to see past this additional wool.

I'm starting the class with 4.  I believe she shows evidence of being a little more muscular than 1. Both sheep are very balanced, however, I give the advantage in length to 4. 4 also looks to stand on a little more bone than 1.  She is long and level in both her top and bottom lines, wide and flat over the rack and loin with a long level hip and shows tremendous depth of twist and squareness through the pins and has the desirable rib shape we are looking for in brood ewes today.

Second Place:  1

Entry number: 331

Exhibitor: cindyfreed

State: CA

Sheep name/number: Christine

Breed: Suffolk/Hampshire

I'm placing 1 second in the class and over number 3 in an easy placing.  1 has the balance, style, and femininity that is so desirable.  She is extremely level in her top and bottom lines and is clean through the front and correct at the points.  She too is wide and flat over the rack and loin and is extremely long and level through her hip.   She is wide through the pins with evidence of muscle through the stifle.  I would like to lengthen her out a bit and add a little more bone.

Third Place:  3

Entry number: 454

I see some skeletal weakness in both 2 and 3, however, I see fewer faults in 3.  She does appear to be long sided, however, she is off in her neck placement. She tapers over both her rack and loin. She does show some evidence of inner leg muscle, however, I  would like to see more depth of twist and lower leg muscle.

Fourth Place:  2

Entry number: 385

I see numerous skeletal flaws in 2.  She is uneven in both her top and bottom lines and she really slopes off her dock.  She is more than adequate in depth of twist and lower leg muscle, however, I would like to see more frame size and with a longer neck.

For these reasons I'm placing the class 4, 1, 3, 2 with cuts of 2, 7, 2 .
