1 dominates the class in regards to club lamb design, balance and structural correctness. Ideally the class winner could be bigger hipped and more massive in his top and lower leg. Still, he is the best designed, sounder on all four feet, and stronger down his top. More specifically, he is shallower in his chest floor, his longer neck ties neater into the top of his shoulder, is stronger pasterned and true in the set to his hock. As a bonus, he is more shapely down his top, fuller over his loin and at his hip juncture, and more expressive and shapely through the center and lower portion of his leg.

Now, there is now doubt that the larger framed, pounds heavier 3 is bigger and flatter out of his dock. Unfortunately he is shorter necked, deeper fronted, less shapely over his rack, loin and center leg, and not as sound footed, so he is second.
On the other hand, he has several distinct advantages over 2, which not in the least is his levelness of top and hip. In addition he is a wider based stouter constructed that is deeper in his fore rib and better maintains this depth through his center rib and flank.

Third Place: 2

I’ll be the first to admit that 2 is plumper legged, yet this is where his advantages end as he is frailer in his makeup and ill structured.
In the concluding pair of poorer structured ram lambs, 2 is the heavier muscled lamb that is thicker down his top, and wider through his stifle. As a bonus he is longer sided and appears to be longer hindsaddled.

Fourth Place: 4

Sure, 4 is wide based, however finding no definite advantages in 4, he has to remain at the bottom of the class. He is coarse breasted, ewe necked, tight in his spine and drops in his dock. Most importantly, he is the lightest muscled lamb that rafters over his rack and is plain and non-descript in his leg.
I know this is the stoutest set of cuts I have placed on a class, however feel most should be able to find the differences in this one. Therefore the placing is 1, 3, 2, 4 with cuts of 4, 6, 5.
