Official Placing: 3, 2, 4, 1
Cuts: 3, 1, 4

I placed this class 3, 2, 4, 1 with cuts of 3, 1, 4.

First Place:  3

Entry number: 581

Exhibitor: lm1668

State: OH

Sheep name/number: C.C.

Breed: Black face X

Lamb 3 goes to the top of the class and over lamb 2 in an easy placing, especially when you consider style, eye appeal, and overall balance. 3 is cleaner through the shoulder and is a lot more acceptable at the shoulder points than 2. 3 has a long neck that appears to sit on top of the shoulder.  3 exhibits length from flank to flank.  I will grant I would like to see lamb 3 a tad deeper in the rear flank.  3 is long in the saddle, loin, and length of hip.  I would like to see 3 an inch higher at the dock and if she was she would level out at the hip.  3 also has more substance of bone than the finer boned  number 2. From the rear 3 appears to be flat over the rack and loin.  I would like to see more width in both of these areas with a bolder rib shape.  She does have good depth of twist with a plump inside leg and width through the stifle.

Second Place:  2

Entry number: 517

Exhibitor: Shootingstar

State: TX

Sheep name/number: 09 #21 wether

Breed: Hampshire X

I'm placing 2 second in the class and over the black  wether lamb 4, mainly because of the superior length of side. 2 does show a little too much depth of shoulder and this tends to make her appear to be out of balance, especially on the profile. 2 also appears a little too round at the shoulder points. 2 does have the desired length of side, however, she appears to be moderate in bone.  From the rear she appears too narrow over the rack and slopes at the loin edge.  She is long and level in the hip.

Third Place:  4

Entry number: 671
Exhibitor: Lamb Quarters Farm
State: OH
Sheep name/number: 50
Breed: Natural

I'm placing the black wether lamb 4, third in the class and over the rough appearing lamb 1.  4 has a lot more style and balance than lamb 1.  From the side this lamb appears to be the most balanced lamb in the class with both level top and bottom lines.  4 does appear to be the shortest lamb from flank to flank in the class.  From the rear 4 looks to have an acceptable rack shape, however, he sure seems to slope over the loin.  4 has enough depth of twist with enough power in the lower leg.

Fourth Place:  1

Entry number: 410

I'm placing 1 at the bottom of the class. I will grant this is a large frame lamb but he is just too out of balance with rounded shoulder points and has a short, steep hip that is several inches too low at the dock.  He does stand on more than adequate bone, however, he is too shallow in depth of twist, flat muscled through the stifle and does not have enough inside leg muscle.

Again, I placed the class  3, 2, 4, 1 with cuts of 3, 1, 4. Sorry for the delay in getting the results in to Crystal.
