1 is the best balanced ewe with the most desirable rib design in the class. Ideally she could be tighter hided, longer necked and more extended in her pattern. Still in relation to 4 in the initial pair, she is more pulled apart in the top of her skeleton, bigger out of her pins and consequently better ribbed and wider through her stifle as she progresses from front to rear and top to bottom, and I would predict her to be the easiest keeping, heaviest muscled ewe that should have a greater longevity within the flock and produce thicker made better balanced offspring that would excel in the showring.

There is no doubt that 4 is deeper sided, larger framed and smoother patterned, unfortunately she is too flat sided and light muscled to gain and advantage over our class winner.
In a close middle pair with some give and take, it is primarily 4’s balance and uniformity of body depth that places her over 2. 4 is shallower through the floor of her chest and better maintains her depth though her flank. She is deeper twisted and plumper through the lower 1/3 of her leg, and simply more ideal in her skeletal design.

2 may be the longest necked and most extended in her skeleton and definitely has more turn to her center rib, unfortunately she is ill made, deep chested and high flanked. With these faults aside, she is carrying more finish, is smoother patterned, longer spined and presents a thicker top and bigger hip in her rear photo.

3 may very well feed out be the best show lamb or brood ewe of the bunch, unfortunately she is the smallest, barest finished ewe lamb at this point that simply needs more time on feed to make an educated guess on how well she will feed out.
