Official Placing: 3-4-2-1
Cuts: 3-1-3
I believe this class has an easy top, the Dorset lamb number 3. A close middle pair in 4 and 2, and an easy bottom in number 1.
I placed the class 3-4-2-1 with cuts of 3-1-3.
Again, I placed the class 3-4-2-1 with cuts of 3-1-3...Comments?

I’m starting the class with the Dorset lamb, number 3, which is the most complete balanced lamb in the class. Starting with the long neck squarely placed, smooth at the points, long, level top line including a long level hip. True, I would not want any more depth of shoulder, however, he is balanced. From the rear he is both wide and flat over the rack, the loin, deep in the twist, square at the pins with adequate muscle through the stifle. He has proper rib shape, fullness of flank and is the longest sided lamb in the class.

My middle pair, 4 and 2 both have major flaws, however, I give a slight edge to 4 in general appearance. From the profile 4 is average in neck length, however, it is squarely placed. He is smooth at the points, however, his major problem is he is the shortest sided lamb in the class. He does have rib shape and flank fullness, but, he is short hipped and he really slopes off the hip.
From the rear he appears to be of average width over the rack, but, does get progressively wider traveling own the spine to the dock. He is square at the dock, deep in the twist and shows evidence of muscle in the lower third and stifle. 4 has more eye appeal than 2.

Third Place: 2

Number 2, who places third in the class has a coarse appearance. The average length neck is placed correct, however, she is uneven in the top line and has a short sloping hip. She is too deep fronted and breaks at the hip/loin juncture and slopes over the loin.
From the rear she appears longer sided than from the profile, however, she slopes over the rack and loin. She does have depth of twist and more than adequate leg muscle.

Fourth Place: 1

I believe 1 fits in the fourth slot as he has as many structural flaws as 4 and 2, but, is too coarse in his appearance. His short neck is properly placed, however, he is round at the points, too deep chested, rough in the top line and slopes off the hip. He is average in depth of twist and is lacking muscle in the lower third.
