1 is my choice in a very tough class to judge. All four ewes are very close in quality, and some subtle differences separate them. 1 suits me as the neatest fronted, best ribbed, and most complete from the profile. From behind, she could stand to show more expression and width of muscle, but appears to be the squarest rumped and best pinned.

The 4 ewe lamb is the one that most closely resembles the class winner from the side view. She is impressive from the rear as she blends well in her transitions down her topline, and appears to be correct in her rump structure. I would like to see more evidence of muscle in her leg, and she could be smoother shouldered as well.

In my bottom pair, I chose to use the 3 ewe for third. From the profile, she is straighter and more correct in her topline, and is smoother and more extended in her front 1/3. In the rear view, she appears to offer more squareness and strength in her rack than 2. She needs to be leveler and wider rumped to move up in class.

I rounded out the class with the 2 sheep. Granted, she is probably the longest bodied, longest hindsaddled ewe in the class. However, she lacks the overall attractiveness, balance, and correctness of the higher placing lambs.
