First Place:  1

Entry number: 1107

Exhibitor: mm

State: CA

Sheep name/number: Sophie

Breed: Hampshire X

1 wins the class easily in my opinion. She excels the other lambs by being the most attractive, best balanced sheep in the class. She is tall shouldered and extremely neat in her front 1/3, along with being great in her length of body. She stands square on her feet and legs and overpowers her opponents on width and expression of muscle. To be more ideal, I would like to see her smoother at the hip-loin junction.

Second Place:  3

Entry number: 1234

Exhibitor: lambboy

State: UT

Sheep name/number: 141

Breed: Suffolk/Hampshrie

In a close middle pair, I prefer the added length of body and straightness of top of the 3 wether. He also shows more width and shape of muscle along his top and leg than the third place sheep. He is smooth shouldered and good in overall depth of body. I would like to see him stouter in his structural makeup and he needs to be leveler rumped. From the rear, he isn't as square on his legs as the class winner.

Third Place:  2

Entry number: 1180

I appreciate the attractive profile of the the 2 wether. He is tall at the point of shoulder, long necked, and smooth fronted. He is level rumped and adequate boned. He gives up some length of body and hindsaddle to the top two lambs. Although he is adequate in his muscle, he doesn't offer the overall width and dimension necessary to place higher in class.

Fourth Place:  4

Entry number: 1239

The 4 lamb rounds out this nice class of markets. He is a thick made sheep that is deep bodied and flanked. He appears to be the heaviest conditioned sheep in the class that looks to be softer in his handle. To place higher today, he needs the added showring look and balance of the three higher placing individuals.
