#1 is the best balanced, most fault free ewe in the class. From the profile, she is the neatest through her front while maintaining adequate depth of body and flank. She is tall at the point of shoulder and level from shoulder to dock. From behind, she stands square on her feet and legs and displays adequate thickness of muscle. To be more ideal, she needs less set to her hock, and she could be more expressive in her muscle.

The #4 ewe most closely resembles the class winner from both side and rear views. She is an upfronted sheep that is good in length of body and hindsaddle. She stands wide and square and is comparable to the #1 ewe in muscle width and expression. She needs to be shallower chested and more correct in her topline to defeat the neater, more attractively balanced ewe in first place.

In the bottom pair, I prefer the structural integrity and feet and leg soundness advantage the 3 sheep has over #2. #3 is an extended fronted sheep that balances more correctly from the profile than the fourth place individual. Ideally, she needs to blend more smoothly in her hip-loin, be leveler rumped, and have less set to her hock.
