The #3 ram wins easily for me as the best balanced and thickest built ram of the class. From the profile, he is straight made, clean fronted, and correct on feet and legs. From behind, he is by far the thickest topped, rumped, and stifled. To be more ideal, he could be heavier structured.

#2 is another stout made sheep that balances well from the side. He is long topped and level rumped. From the rear, he shows some expression of leg and stifle, but lacks the overall width of top and rump the class winner exhibits. Like the 1st place ram, he too could be heavier structured.

The #1 ram is a shallow made sheep with some shape and expression. He is long bodied, and extended in his front third. To move up in placing, he needs to be smoother in his topline, wider down his top and rump, and like the top pair, needs to be heavier structured.

I chose to round out the class with the #4 ram lamb. He appears to be a production oriented sheep that is growthy and big bodied. To compete with the other rams, he needs to be better balanced, more squarely made, and more correct on his feet and legs.
