When I first glance at the class, the 1 sheep just reads as being the most complete in his combination of skeletal integrity and carcass fundamentals. From the side he is unrivaled in his balance. He is neat chested, long from flank to flank and jet level from hooks to pins, with an attractive design to his hind leg. If you study him in regards to muscle, he still views massive behind his shoulder, wide in his pins, and studies with plenty of shape from behind. If I can change this one up, I would like to see him longer necked, stouter in his foot and bone work, and smoother at his hip loin junction.

In second is the 2 sheep. His power and shape makes you take notice. I would suspect when hanging on the rail, he could be the most valuable. He is opened up wide in his underpinning and is the most massive through his hip, leg, and stifle. Moreover, he stands on the largest circumference of foot and bone. Unfortunately, it is his look from the side that limits him to second for me today. I need to lay him back out of his shoulder at a more appropriate angle, as well as see him transition smoother from the top of his blade back to his rack. He gets rounder about his hip, and is excessive in the set to his hock. Still, the 2 wether offers a tremendous amount of potential cutout value and that keeps him in second today.

In a bottom pair of ewes that both could use an added shot of muscle, I elected to tie onto the added design and skeletal build advantage found in the blue ewe. She gives us the appearance of running uphill. She is longer fronted, and her neck ties in higher to her shoulder. I read her as being cleaner chested, longer sided, and more shapely through her stifle. Additionally, the blue ewe reads more appropriate to the set of her knee and hock.

Lastly we have the Hampshire appearing four ewe. In relation to the one above her, she does come out of her pinsetting with more width. She may even be more relaxed in her spine. However I just need to see her more powerful and muscular in her general build. She reads flatter and harsher about her rib, the greenest in her condition, and the frailest at the ground.
