The #3 ewe lamb sorts easily to the top of the class for me. She excels the other ewes with her balance and look from the profile, coupled with her squareness from behind. From the side, she is straight in her topline, smooth fronted, and deep flanked. From behind, she exhibits correctness of feet and legs along with being the widest made, heaviest muscled sheep in the class.

The #2 ewe is a tall shouldered, extended fronted sheep. She is long topped with a level rump. From the rear view, she displays a good turn to her rib and a thick, muscular top and rump. To be more ideal in her makeup, she needs to be deeper flanked, wider based, and more expressive in her lower leg.

In a close placing for third, I prefer the levelness and smoothness shown in the #1 ewe. Granted, she gives up some width and squareness of rump to the fourth place ewe, she does offer straighter lines, more center body width, and more depth of body and flank. To move up in placing, she needs to be heavier muscled and more square in her build.

I chose to round out the class with #4. She is a long topped female with some extension in her front third. I appreciate her shallowness of front along with good depth of body and flank. To be more competitive in class, she needs to be leveler topped, more expressive muscled, and more ideal in her width through her center rib.
