This ewe lamb is the logical winner in this class as she is the nicest balanced, stoutest featured, heaviest muscled one in the class. She combines that with being very smooth and eye appealing when viewed from the side.

In a closer middle pair I chose the longer sided ewe lamb 1 over 4 because she is shallower in her chest floor, more correct in her rib shape and has more overall length of hip and hind saddle. When you view her from behind she is expressive in her muscle shape and shows more natural width of skeleton. I would like to see her a little smoother in her loin and have a little more bone.

I really appreciate 4 for her expression of muscle down her top and she carries that our nicely through her hip. In addition when you view her from behind she shows more natural shape and expression to her leg. However, I would like to change the design of her front shoulder, make her shallower in her chest floor and balance her up from flank to flank.

2 is a smooth shouldered ewe lamb who stands on a very correct set of feet and legs. But , as we compare her to the rest of the class she is the flattest in her rib shape and lacks the muscle expression that we see in the other 3.
