I ultimately chose the darker fleeced 4 over 1 because from the pictures, she looks like she stands with a tick more genuine width at the ground and has a wider pin placement.

I'll concede 1 is a touch more powerful from behind, carrying more overall muscle through her lower stifle.

The #3 Southdown ewe offers some advantages in the class - she's easily the most feminine of the group, particularly through her front third. I really appreciate her levelness of top line and heavy bone structure. She falls third simply because she just doesn't have the overall power and volume as those in front of her, but a nice lamb nonetheless.

I closed out the class with #2. Now, she does offer more muscle from behind than #3, but she's also the least feminine and the poorest balanced of the class.
