Judging Contest Winners:

Under 15:  ShelbySue

15-18:  shropgirl

Over 18:  sheeplady

Official Placing: 4, 2, 3, 1

Cuts: 5, 3, 1

For our class of ewe lambs aged 5 to 11 months I place them  4, 2, 3, 1  with cuts of 5, 3, and 1.

First Place:  4

Entry number:  118

Exhibitor:  Cullen

State:  TX

Sheep name/number:  07-20

Breed:  Suffolk/Hampshire

Website:  www.tittleclublambs.com

We start our class with the blue ewe lamb which wins rather easily in my opinion.  She exhibits enough length and width while maintaining a clean front and neat chest floor. In a live show I'd require her set up on the ground, not on the showman's shoes.  I would like to see her a touch fuller ribbed at the start of the rack and somewhat fuller in the loin.

Second Place:  2

Entry number:  115

Exhibitor:  Lambman87

State:  IN

Sheep name/number:  18300

Breed:  Cross

In second we have our 2 lamb . 2 falls short of 4 in her overall balance and the smoothness we see in 4. 2 is also shorter made flank to flank and narrows at the pins too much to stand higher.

Third Place:  3

Entry number:  116

Placing third in our closest pair is 3. While 3 is longer flank to flank than our second place ewe, she lacks the depth of twist, width, and substance to place higher.

Fourth Place:  1

Entry number:  112

Our fourth place lamb is the fitted ewe with a heavy fleece (1).  Both of our last pair exhibit some slope out the dock and I'd expect my hands to find more slope and less leg than we see in the fitted wool  of 1. This ewe also lacks the elegance and style we'd like to see fitted or not.
