The class winner could be smoother in the transition from
the top of the shoulder into the rack and could be cleaner
through the chest/breast bone. However, this ewe is leveler
over the top as a whole and especially more desirable in the
hip-loin juncture than 3.

While 3 is a more elevated ewe through the front, she is not
as square out the dock and appears to be rougher topped.
Still in a middle pair of ewes that could be squarer, I
prefer the depth of body and brood ewe potential of 3 over
2. 3 has more rib shape and depth of body, especially when
considering the rear flank.

Granted the flashy appearing dark colored ewe may have the
most level rack coming out of her shoulder, but she is the
tight- ribbed, high flanked ewe that is not as desirable for
retaining in a breeding flock.
Still in a bottom pair of undesirable ewes, 2 overpowers the
younger 4 ewe lamb in terms of overall muscle capacity and
expression.

The younger ewe may grow into more depth of body than 2.
However, 4 is the weak topped, steep hipped ewe that is the
narrowest through the pins and pinched at the rump leading
me to believe that she will continue to develop as the
lightest muscled ewe lamb in this class.
