Official Placing:  1, 3, 2, 4

Cuts:  2, 5, 3

This is definitely a two pair class using 1 and 3 in the top and 2 and 4 in the bottom.

First Place:  1

Entry number:  235

Exhibitor:  sheepshowermom

State:  TX

Sheep name/number:  Fool

Breed:  Suffolk/Hampshire

Starting with the heaviest muscled lamb that best combines balance and correctness of finish, 1 beats 3 in muscle thickness particularly being thicker ended, more specifically being deeper twisted and being wider from stifle to stifle. This lamb also is fuller though his loin and exhibits a more expressive forearm.

Second Place:  3

Entry number:  266

Exhibitor:  kaz

State:  TX

Sheep name/number:  Sporty

Breed:  Medium Wool

No doubt about it, 3 is the heaviest structured, biggest footed lamb in the class. However, he breaks in his loin and gets flatter through his leg when viewed from behind.

Nonetheless the Hampshire appearing lamb easily is used over 2. He out-powers 2 by having more width and shear mass. He has more thickness down his top and carries more dimension through his leg. He is wider through his center body and should hang the shapelier carcass of the pair.

Third Place:  2

Entry number:  240

I do grant 2 appears to have a more structurally correct set to his hind leg. Yet I look at him and he lacks the overall width and thickness of our top two carcass oriented market lambs.

Despite these criticisms, 2 out shines 4 in balance and showring appeal. He is smoother shouldered, trimmer middled and leveler docked.

Fourth Place:  4

Entry number:  346

Indeed, 4 is market ready, is stouter boned and appears to be wider made.  This unfortunately does not make up for the fact that he is the poorest balanced lamb, being loose and coarse shouldered, deep middled and low docked.
