We're starting with the lamb that best combines muscle, balance, structure and correctness of finish to win the class. Ideally the wooly legged wether could be leveler out his tail head.
Nevertheless, we still used him over the only ewe lamb in our top pair of the two nicer profiling lambs. 2 is fuller through his loin, appearing to have more depth and width making it appear to handle fresher through his top. He too is wider and squarer out his upper hip.

We admit 4 is leveler out her dock, yet faulted her and placed her second as she is weaker in her loin and tapered through her hip.
Despite these criticisms, we chose to use the ewe lamb over 1 in our middle pair, as she is the nicer balanced, more attractive profiling lamb. As viewed from the side she is smoother shouldered and more parallel in her lines. More specifically she is stronger topped and leveler out her hip.

We definitely see that 1 is more expressive in his muscle shape. However we faulted him and placed him third as he is coarse shouldered, weak topped, and low docked.
Now, in the bottom pair of the two poorer balanced lambs we chose to use 1 over 3. 1 is more striking on the rear view, having more expression of muscle from stifle to stifle.

Some may say 3 is longer bodied and heavier boned and we agree. Yet we faulted 3 and placed him last as he not only is one of the poorest balanced lambs in the class, but is also the plainest in his muscle shape giving him the least desirable market lamb look.
Therefore we placed the class 2, 4, 1, 3 with cuts of 6, 3, 2.
