I chose to start with the most structurally correct wether that is better in his skeletal design. Ideally the class winner could be more shapely and expressive, however as a prospect his pattern and smoothness allow me to leave him on top. More specifically he is smoother at the point of his shoulder, more correct in the set of his knee and hock and leveler and truer down his top. As a bonus he is flatter over his loin edge and blends smoother into his hip.

Now, some may prefer the added rack shape and depth of twist in 2, unfortunately he is out at the point of his shoulder causing him to twist out on his front two and appears to even be slightly over at the knee. Still in comparison to 1 he is shapelier over his rack and loin, longer and squarer in his muscle pattern and leveler out of his dock, and thus I would predict him to make a thicker better designed market lamb as he matures.

I’ll be the first to admit that 1 is as good as any in the class from the side, however he gets plain down his top and round in his muscle shape so I leave him third. Still he is much longer patterned and later maturing than 4. In addition he is better in his rib design, reads to have more turn to his stifle and fuller and thicker through the lower 1/3 of his leg. 1 should better maintain his look and balance to heavier show weights.

Sure, 4 is wide based and possibly the stoutest constructed lamb in the class. Unfortunately he is short necked, bold fronted and lacks the lateness of maturity needed for him to place any higher. To add to this he is nondescript in his muscle and funnels through his lower leg so he is last.
