First Place:  4

Entry number: 1100

Exhibitor: Cullen

State: TX

Sheep name/number: Gillis Club Lambs

Breed: Medium Wool

I chose to lead the class with the 4 wether. He is easily the best balanced, most attractive profiling sheep in class. He is a long bodied, long hindsaddled wether that is stout structured and correct on his feet and legs. Although he isn't the heaviest muscled, his expression is tremendous and volume of muscle is adequate. From th 3/4 view, he needs to be smoother shouldered and show more width of center rib, however, he still is the most complete in the class.

Second Place:  2

Entry number: 1058

Exhibitor: Lambboy

State: UT

Sheep name/number: Tag 112

Breed: Hampshire X

Although 2 is a different style lamb than the class winner, he also combines several quality traits. He is a wether that is very proportional in his build from front to rear. He has good muscle dimension down his top and leg, is square legged, and heavy boned.

In comparison to the class winner, he needs to be smoother in his topline, shallower chested, and more extended in the front 1/3.

Third Place:  1

Entry number: 1047

In the bottom pair, 1 has the advantage of being a wider based ewe lamb with more natural width and muscling. She is good in length of body, and maintains good depth from chest to flank. To move up in this competitive class, she needs more extension of front, be smoother topped, and display more shape and expression of muscle.

Fourth Place:  3

Entry number: 1097

Rounding out the class is the 3 ewe. She appears to be a tight hided individual that is probably as long hindsaddled as any in the class. However, she is the narrowest made sheep that lacks the structural correctness of the higher placing animals.
