Official Placing: 4-1-3-2
Cuts: 4-5-4

4-1-3-2 is my official placing.

First Place:  4

Entry number: 1221

Exhibitor: Jakerichardson

State: CA

Breed: Hampshire X

4 comes to the forefront of this set due to the fact that he best balances carcass traits of muscle shape with growth potential and an athletic build. This sheep is not only the best in overall shape but he is the stoutest hipped and still blends this with a stout featured youthful look. With more time on feed he will easily be the best balanced, most fault free sheep of the set.

Second Place:  1

Entry number: 1173

Exhibitor: EmsoffLambs

State: CA

Sheep name/number: 314

Breed: Hampshire

1 comes in a close second for me. This sheep has an impressive, modern/trendy look from the side. He is the most correct in his heart, rib and chest floor. He stays level in his topline and still looks to be very opened up in his rib and top. His issues, for me, are from behind. This guy gets a little plainer and flatter in his outer stifle.

Third Place:  3

Entry number: 1204

3 is an intriguing sheep in many aspects. She is very good in her flank set, she's flat, wide, and square out of her hip. She has loads of stifle shape and she is very trendy boned. She is plenty good in terms of muscle volume. She falls third to her contemporaries because she is the quickest patterned, shortest coupled, earliest maturing sheep. I would like to open her up more in her fore-rib, make her hip loin junction smoother and give her some more length of hip.

Fourth Place:  2

Entry number: 1187

2 has several desirable traits. This guy has stifle shape, he is hard muscled and with time on feed he will be very smooth patterned. He just doesn't have the overall width and dimension found in the three sheep that beat him today. I would like to see more expansion to his rib, and for his muscle and rib to be rounder in shape.
