Exhibitor: gonefishin1

Sheep name/number: Sheep 0003

Breed: Medium wool

The sheep that leads out this class in a close top pair decision is the Hampshire appearing 1 sheep. This guy is super stout boned, works width and power down his top and from behind and does so with the most compositionally correct look in terms of cover. From the profile this sheep needs some fixing. I would like to build his underline in the opposite direction. This sheep needs to be shallower in his flank and/or deeper in terms of his flank to make him better balanced.

Second Place:  3

Entry number: 1237

Exhibitor: calebffa

State: IA

Sheep name/number: 1980

Breed: Crossbred

The sheep in a close second is the Suffolk appearing weather. This sheep is the heavy weight powerful appearing sheep whom is thin hided, expressive muscled, and appears fresh down his top. However I feel the need to make this sheep a touch more modern in several areas. He's a close second for me because he is too deep through his chest and much frailer in terms of bone.

Third Place:  4

Entry number: 1262
Exhibitor: Meyersshowlambs
State: OH
Sheep name/number: 709
Breed: Blackface cross

The sheep in third is 4. This sheep is one that has some redeeming qualities. The wool picked sheep is better in his underline, softer in his flank and appears heavy weight. However he's in a closer bottom pair for me because he is at a muscle disadvantage compared to his counterparts, and he gets plainer in terms of his build and muscle shape.

Fourth Place:  2

Entry number: 1235

This ewe lamb holds some class leading advantages. She's stout hipped, level in her lines and brings more shape to the table than does 4. I would certainly like to extend her growth curve as well as trim her up in terms of cover. She's the shortest bodied heaviest conditioned sheep that is concerning in terms of cutability.
