I’m starting the class with 4 the most balanced lamb in the class. 4 is strongest on the profile of the class. Long neck squarely placed, clean front, tucked chest, massive forearm, long level top line, long level hip. Longest spined lamb of the class. Great rib shape, full rear flank, and stands correct on feet and legs with ample bone.
This lamb would have better appearance if all 4 feet were on the ground with moderate brace, however, from the rear he is the thickest lamb in the class over the rack, the loin, and he has width at the pins and is deep in his twist. He is just an overall good prospect with a lot of natural thickness.

A lamb that certainly has a beautiful profile is 2, therefore, he places second in the class. This moderate plus frame lamb has a long neck squarely placed, he is certainly clean fronted, tucked chest floor, long and level spine, hip, and shows evidence of rib shape and flank fullness.
From the rear he appears to have width and flatness over both the rack and loin. He is square at the dock with moderate depth of twist. He is moderate on bone but is correct on his feet and legs. He certainly is attractive, however, I do not see the thickness that 4 possesses.

In placing 3 third in the class I do not see the length and thickness of the two lambs placing above him, however, because he is so much more balanced in his overall appearance than 1, I believe he easily falls into third place. From the profile he is level in his top line, level in his hip, clean fronted, tucked in chest floor, shows rib shape. I would like to see additional length of side as he appears to be taller than long. He is moderate plus in frame, stands correct on feet and legs, however, he is too fine boned.
From the rear I would like to see more width of rack and loin. He has moderate depth of twist and I would like to see more natural thickness and length.

I’m placing 1 fourth in the class because he has the most structural problems of any lamb in the class. From the profile he is short sided, too heavy fronted, too round at the points, too short in length of rack and loin, has a short sloping hip and is extremely rough at the hip/loin juncture.
From the rear he appears to slope over the loin with low loin edge. He does have rib shape and flank fullness, depth of twist, and muscle in his lower third. He is weak in his rear pasterns and hocks in the rear legs.
Again, I placed the class 4-2-3-1 with cuts of 3-2-5.
Feel free to discuss the class. OG
