I started the class with 3, the most complete, balanced lamb in the class. This moderate frame lamb has an extremely level top line, is clean through the front, has the best rib shape of the class with the fullest rear flank.
From the rear 3 is the widest over the rack and loin of the class with a square dock/pin set, deepest in the twist with the most expression of muscle through the lower third of the class. Just a real complete prospect that will perform in the ring as well as the rail.

The lamb with the superior profile, 4, places second. This moderate plus frame lamb has a very long level top line, is extremely clean fronted.
From the rear I would like to see more fullness of rib and fuller in the rear flank. This lamb has a wide flat top and loin but is not as long hipped as the first place lamb. This lamb will be competitive in the show ring as well as the rail. Another solid prospect.

The quality drops off significantly in the bottom pair, 2 and 1, but I give the advantage to 2 for third in the class based on thickness and muscle. 2 shows more rib shape, flank fullness and from the rear is acceptable over the rack and loin. 2 has moderate twist depth and moderate muscle through the lower third.
On the profile this lamb lacks eye appeal and is not as balanced as the two placing above it.

Although 1 is a long sided lamb with a clean front it is just too narrow over the rack and loin, too shallow in the twist and lacks muscle in the lower third to move up in class.
Again, I placed the class 4-3-2-1 with cuts of 1-5-2. Comments are welcomed and appreciated. OG
